"More than just a crèche: a second home"

Tailor-made support

Created with the aim of providing different support from other structures, our nursery only welcomes 6 babies and 9 kids (2 to 4 years old). There are two full-time teachers in each group and one Aide Socio-Educative who is also managing the general household of the crèche.

Our size and philosophy allow us to follow each child, his/her interests and needs. If your baby is still sleeping three times a day at home, we will keep the same rhythm at the crèche and follow your guidelines.

Our parents are also included in the life of the creche and play a major role! Our will is to involve them as much as possible and to keep them informed whatever happens. We have set up a clear, fast, and honest way of communicating with each other and we do send feedback whenever needed from the parent and/or the little one. Funny fact: our parents even decided to create a group between each other and sometimes organize playdates in the commune together.

Organic

We feel it is our duty to protect babies and young children and offer them what's best from a very young age.

This is why we are careful with the products we choose, whether it might be food, hygiene products (diapers, creams, oils), electronics (baby monitors with low emissions), toys, cleaning and washing products, etc.

We focus on the world we are all living in and spend a lot of time outside, in our garden (where we grow vegetables and fruit) or in the parks in the neighborhood.

“Help me do it myself” (M. Montessori)

Self-awareness, independence

We make our best to adapt ourselves to each child, his/her own needs at a certain stage of his/her life in order to encourage autonomy.

In the babies group, we apply a "free motricity" concept: they are free to go wherever and whenever they want in a secured space completely dedicated to them. During meals, babies are sitting in their own chairs and eat with their own spoons.

In the other group, we offer activities and they are free to join or not, depending on their needs and/or interests. We encourage them to be self-aware and go to the toilets when they need to (wash their hands, brush their teeth, use the potty or the toilets). They are completely free to go and just have to follow their needs.

Multilingualism

We respect the first language(s) of each child in order for them to feel safe in a steady environment. In order to ease their integration, French, Luxembourgish and German are spoken daily at the creche. An introduction to English through nursery rhymes and games is also planned.

On top of that, our team uses sign language with babies which improves their cognitive skills, stimulates their senses (eyesight, hearing, and touch) without slowing down the speaking process (as each sign is spoken by the teacher). We also organize workshops for parents who wish to learn some everyday signs.

Who is behind The Happy Few?

The crèche was created in 2017 by a mom who was passionate about perinatal and parenting topics and who struggled to find the right creche for her little one in the commune.

She then decided to join forces with her cousin who was a qualified teacher in order to open this small nest, a haven of rest for children in this busy world.

The team is a strong, multidisciplinary group of women gathered around one thing: Love.
